The new slideshow of Madeline takes place at my parents' house (not this week of course, they are still w/o power).
That is the high chair that survived myself, Mel and Joe, waaay before Graco and all those "safety regualtions". Guess what? It works. Just goes to show that not everything for a kid has to be plastic with weird little hinges and straps and electronic gizmos. Don't get me wrong- I like plastic and safety straps, and am a SUCKER for a gizmo with a carrying bag. There just seems to be something comfortable, soothing and satisfying to see Maddie with the same stuff we had growing up. If you would look thru the Brown Family picture archives, I bet there are pictures of all 3 of us in that same high chair with that same Tupperware cup. We all turned out "fine". I suppose "fine" is a pretty subjective and relative term!

i was just thinking the same thing, looking at the slideshow! in fact, if you slipped those snapshots into one of the old photo albums i'm not sure if you could tell who is who! i especially love maddie's range of facial expressions...
